The course, organized by the Chair of Reproductive Biochemistry Clinic Vistahermosa, will count among its faculty with experts from the Units of Reproduction and Genetics of the Hospital Alicantino, as well as specialists from all over the national territory

The Spanish Association of Human Genetics (AEGH) has accredited the online modality of the Course of Clinical Genetics in Assisted Reproduction organized by the Chair of Clinical Reproductive Biomedicine Vistahermosa of the University Miguel Hernández and that counts on professionals of the Units of Reproduction and Genetics of the Hospital Clínica Vistahermosa among its faculty.
This certificate tries to promote the courses in genetics promoted by the members of the association, as long as they fulfill a series of requirements that guarantee the quality and reliability of these formative activities.
In its fourth edition, the program has been expanded to include current research on genomic editing in germ cells and embryos, and genetic matching in assisted reproduction. The course, which will be held from March 6 to May 22, will be entirely online and will count for 20 hours. Upon completion, the students will obtain a certificate from the UMH. The main objective of this agenda is to review, in an easy and comfortable, the current knowledge of Clinical Genetics applied to Reproductive Medicine.
The first topics focus on reviewing the main techniques used in Reproduction in diagnostic techniques and bioinformatic analysis used in the clinical genetics laboratory. Finally, the latest advances in reproductive genetics will be discussed.
The faculty brings together a valuable representation of specialists from the HLA Vistahermosa hospital: Joaquín Rueda, director of the Genetics Unit, Professor of the UMH Faculty of Medicine and specialist in Clinical Genetics; Juan Manuel Moreno, embryo expert responsible for Laboratory of Reproduction Unit; Antonio Urbano, head of Molecular Genetics and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnostic Program; Isabel Ochando, PhD in Genetics, associate professor at the UMH, responsible for Cytogenetics and the Quality program, and Estefanía Montoya, PhD in Biochemistry and Master in Genetic and Reproductive Medicine.
Also attending will be Spanish specialists such as José María Sagredo, Number Academician of the Royal National Academy of Medicine, Professor of the University of Alcalá and Head of the Medical Genetics Service of the Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid; Carles Giménez, Genetist and director of Reprogenetics Spain of Barcelona; Concepcion Villalón, facultative of the Service of Medical Genetics of the University Hospital Ramón y Cajal of Madrid; Joan Blanco, senior lecturer in Cell Biology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona; Javier García Planells, scientific director of the Institute of Genomic Medicine (IMEGEN) of Valencia and president of the Spanish Association of Prenatal Diagnosis (AEDP); Africa García Orad, Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU); Franz Martín, Professor of Nutrition at the Pablo Olavide University in Seville, and Cristina Camprubí, PhD in Genetics, founder and director of GenIntegral de Barcelona.
