The Reproduction Unit HLA Vistahermosa uses the new Geri incubator in order to increase the success rates as well as reduce the multiple pregnancies

This latest progress in Time Lapse technology allows to select with a greater security and accuracy the best embryos that will be transferred.
The Reproduction Unit HLA Vistahermosa has incorporated to its laboratory the Geri incubator for the most advanced embryo culture in the world, in order to achieve the highest success rates and to be able to reduce the multiple pregnancies.
Thanks to Geri technology, which appeared only 6 months ago, the embryologists of the Reproduction Unit HLA Vistahermosa are able to select with a greater security and accuracy the best embryos to be transferred to the maternal uterus and thus, to be able to achieve an ongoing pregnancy.
This device has an independent modular system, with the maximum capacity of 6 patients and 16 embryos per patient, what turns it into aReproducción-asistida_tratamientos_Geri_time-lapse_fertilidad-alicante_UR-Vistahermosa_dic2016 personalized incubator, which makes possible the individual identification, as well as the identification of the key parameters, avoiding the risk of confusion and manipulation. “Each compartment has its own temperature, pH and environment in perfect conditions”, explains Juan Manuel Moreno, the laboratory manager in Reproduction Unit HLA Vistahermosa, “in such a way that the embryos culture of a patient will not be altered by the opening of the door of the rest of incubators in case that any failure may happen”.
The new team incorporates high resolution cameras for the continued capture of images (TimeLapse) which allow to monitor the study of the embryo morphology and to obtain the maximum information. It contains six photos cameras, one in each incubator, with 11 focal planes for the collection of accurate images of the embryos during its development.
Juan Manuel Moreno remarks the fact of counting on a “very intuitive software, easy to handle, what is really important to accelerate the processes in a laboratory”. The specialist of the Reproduction Unit HLA Vistahermosa reveals that this device will allow soon the symbiosis of the Time Lapse systems Geri and Eeva, in order to considerably improve the embryos selection.
“An embryologist clearly distinguishes between high quality embryos and low quality embryos; the problem raises when we have several high quality embryos to be chosen. Here is where EEVA system, once integrated to Geri, will help us know which is the best embryo, as its technology works with more than 50 morphological parameters to determine the most optimal”, specifies Moreno.
The Medical Director in the Reproduction Unit HLA Vistahermosa, Jose López Gálvez claims that “it is the most improved Time Lapse technology which, together with the ones that we already have in the laboratory, will provide us very accurate selections to be able to transfer a unique embryo with evolutionary security, as well as to avoid multiple pregnancies”.
Thus, The Reproduction Unit HLA Vistahermosa becomes a role model in the province of Alicante as well as in the Valencian Community, a model in technological innovation applied to Reproductive Medicine. “We opt for offering guarantee and efficiency to our patients, being pioneers in placing at your disposal the latest advances and the best professionalism”, remarks López Gálvez.
